This week we welcome over 250 delegates to the Light House in Wolverhampton to our sell-out People Place Power conference, which will explore approaches to broadening arts engagement. You'll be able to follow the conference on twitter using #peopleplacepower.

With a packed programme featuring over 70 speakers, the event on 14-15 June aims to spark conversations, open up debate, share learning, challenge thinking and encourage critical reflection, with delegates playing a leading role in this, alongside contributors.

Delegates include people working in cultural organisations, the voluntary and community sectors, local authorities and higher education, as well as artists, Creative People and Places teams, funders and policy makers. Over 20 of the contributors are people who have taken part in Creative People and Places projects locally. Delegates are coming from across the UK and further afield including Ireland, Italy, Sweden, Indonesia and Australia.

You can find out more about the speakers and programme here.

Hosted by Creative Black Country, the Creative People and Places project that works in Wolverhampton, Sandwell and Walsall, the conference will also give a flavour of the work happening locally including a series of caravan performances of Life's A Beach by Black Country Touring, the chance to relax in the recreated surroudings of a Desi pub and some Black Country entertainment in the evening.

There will also be exhibitions of work from two CPP network creative commissions, People Places Portraits and More Than 100 Stories. The Light House will also be showing Different Pasts, Shared Futures, an exhibition of work by emerging and newly arrived artists organised by Wolverhampton City of Sanctuary for Refugee Week.

Delegates will be able to connect with speakers and leading figures in the sector; get up-to-date with current conversations on place-based community-led arts practice; experience Creative People and Places from the inside through practical workshops; explore a range of topics through talks, workshops and discussions; and take away new ideas and continue conversations.

There is an Unconference which will run parallel to the main programme providing an opportuntity to delegates to convene their own sessions and initiate discussions that don't feaure in the programme.
